Hospital
• Members have access to:
 o 2,500 acute-care hospitals nationwide for in-patient confinement
 o With savings of 10% to 30% or more
• Everyone is accepted, no limits on use.
• Pre-Planned Services:
 o Members call to receive savings for pre-planned/non-emergency services
 o Available only with the required pre-certification and referral number
 o Negotiated estimate payment portion amount needs to be secured prior to Member receiving any services.
 o Network will confirm payment ability and provide a referral number.
• Emergency Visits:
 o Members must notify network and receive a referral number within 48 hours of an Emergency Visit.
 
Patient Advocacy
To ensure members have a positive experience when using their medical savings card, network representatives are ready to help. Network will pre-certify that provider is in network and accepting new patients, confirm provider is aware of how the medical savings card works, and verify the discount will be honored at the time of service.
• Member will contact network to provide their specific location and type of doctor of facility they need.
• Network will contact several providers in that area to perform pre-certification.
• Network will contact member and provide 2 to 3 provider options to select from.
• Member makes their own appointment.
 
For in-patient hospital procedures:
• Network will coordinate the cost of the specific procedure with the hospital and the admitting physician
• Provide the member with the best estimate in writing for the procedure being requested in their area
• Member is responsible for the bill in full, minus the NETWORK savings at the time of discharge from the hospital.
 
If member has a stand-alone Hospital Insurance product, customer service representatives will :
• Coordinate the cost of the specific procedure with the hospital and the admitting physician,
• Coordinate levels of coverage for this procedure with the Insurance Company and Hospital,
• Inform the member prior to the procedure of any out-of-pocket expenses that will be incurred.
 
The member will:
• Receive full financial disclosure of the procedure
• Be responsible for financial guarantees with the hospital prior to admission.
