Executive team

Dr. Rinker co-founded Careington in 1979 and has been a practicing dentist for more than 30 years. His first-hand experience can be credited for the strong mutual trust built between Careington and its panel of providers.

Dr. Rinker personally oversees credentialing and quality assurance. A member of ADA, TDA and Dallas County Dental Society, Dr. Rinker believes that Careington’s growth depends upon building long-term loyalty through quality relationships among its providers and the customers.

As Chief Executive Officer of Careington International Corporation, Barbara Williams oversees one of the largest discount healthcare administrators in the country. During her 20-year career at Careington, she has helped the firm build a stellar reputation as an innovator, serving some of the nation’s most respected HMOs, PPOs and national insurance companies in discount dental programs and ancillary products for vision and prescription drug programs.

Barbara also serves as the President of the Board and Association Chair of the Consumer Health Alliance (CHA). CHA represents more than 21 million households in the United States and advocates for consumers’ rights to choose affordable and practical healthcare programs and products. Through CHA, Barbara frequently speaks and is invited to provide insight and testimony about the valuable role of the discount healthcare industry on public policy issues at the local, state and federal level.

Tracy Berwick and her team are responsible for Careington’s administration of its products and services, including billing, account verification and member eligibility processing, as well as data processing, accounting and computer interface with clients.

In addition, Tracy chairs Careington’s Quality Management committee. She has helped Careington grow successfully during her 22-year tenure at the firm.

Melissa Baumann, C.P.A.

Melissa Baumann has been with Careington for 18 years and is responsible for all fiduciary aspects of the Company. As a Certified Public Accountant, her knowledge and background are essential in overseeing these accounting functions, including tax compliance, the accuracy of financial statement disclosure, asset management, and short and long-range strategic planning.

Stewart Sweda
Chief Sales and Marketing Officer

Stewart Sweda has been an integral part of Careington’s growth for more than 18 years. Beginning as a Member Service representative, Stewart has worked in many areas of the company and is intimately familiar with all aspects of the business and the healthcare industry at large.

Stewart’s comprehensive product knowledge, expansive market awareness and visionary leadership contribute to his and Careington’s success in the marketplace. During the past ten years, Stewart has led the growth of Careington’s membership from 500,000 to nearly 6 million. As Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, Stewart oversees all aspects of sales, marketing and provider network development, including product development, direct marketing, customer service and provider relations.

An active member of both NADP and CHA, Stewart has forged relationships with major Managed Healthcare Organizations, PPOs, insurance companies and third party administrators. Stewart graduated from the University of Missouri in 1991. He enjoys golf, fishing and spending time with his family.

Chuck Misasi has more than 24 years of experience in the direct marketing field with an expansive history in dental and healthcare product development, marketing research and sales. An experienced senior executive in business development, database marketing and customer relationship management, Chuck currently oversees Careington’s direct marketing business, and call centers, and works with a far-reaching list of clients on a daily basis. Chuck believes that customer service at Careington is a key differentiator among its competitors and focuses on continuous improvement and innovation in the total customer experience.

Greg Rudisill, R.H.U.

Greg Rudisill brings more than two decades of experience in employee benefits to Careington, specifically in managed healthcare and the group directed eye care market. In his current role as Vice President of Strategic Partnerships, Greg is responsible for developing relationships with managed care companies, insurance carriers, third party administrators and with broker/consultant organizations.
